Good Turn for America is a national call to service by the Boy Scouts of America that will help provide adequate food and shelter and to develop good health habits in our nation.
Encompassing approximately 15-1/2 acres in beautiful Balboa Park near the World-Famous San Diego Zoo, Camp Balboa offers a year-round program for Scouters of all ages. Camp Balboa has a pool, archery and BB gun ranges, handicraft areas, wood shop, nine campsites, amphitheater, indoor and outdoor training facilities, covered patio, and brick barbecue facilities.
San Diego-Imperial Council owns and operates an 840-acre ranch in the hills above Santa Ysabel, with year-round programs for Scouting units and non-Scout organizations. The facilities include lodges, cabins, administration buildings, multiple dining facilities, dozens of campsites with latrines and running water, amphitheater, two pools, lake, ranges for archery and riflery, climbing wall and COPE course, and numerous hiking trails, including a Pacific Crest Connector Trail.
Located in a protected cove on Fiesta Island in the heart of Mission Bay Park in San Diego, the Youth Aquatic Center and Fiesta Island Youth Camp have their own sandy beach and boat ramp, just minutes from the Pacific Ocean by boat or bicycle. These facilities are used year-round by Scout and non-Scout youth groups of up to 250 people. Our fleet of 12- and 15-foot sailboats, Hobie Cats, canoes, and rowboats is available for rent. Mission Bay Park is popular among swimmers, windsurfers, and jet skiers. Well-maintained sidewalks for walking, running, and bicycling stretch for miles. Twenty-five waterfront campsites with fire rings and picnic tables, showers, modern restrooms, overnight dormitories, meeting and program rooms, kitchen and open-air courtyard, amphitheater, and marine biology labs complete this urban oasis, perfect for weekend activities and for our summer resident camp, Camp Fiesta Island.
